Apple improves the network infrastructure for future service

Apple rarely shares his plans with the public. It happened at this time , when

reporters from The Wall Street Journal found that the Cupertino-based company invests in a little improvement and development of the network infrastructure of data centers .

Of course, the most likely target of investments may be to improve the performance of existing network services , for example, the same iCloud. However, Bill Norton , a specialist International Internet Exchange, which helps companies to enter into agreements with providers , insists that Apple already has an extremely high-speed Internet channel. In theory, this should be enough to move hundreds of gigabits per second of traffic . According to Norton, it indicates the beginning of the construction of very large data network.

Currently the largest number of data transfers Apple in three areas : iTunes, iCloud and Mac App Store. While most of the content is not stored on the servers of Apple, but have taken special companies engaged in the storage and content delivery . Apple biggest partner in this area is Akamai. Hence the second assumption about the purpose of investment in network infrastructure. Perhaps , Apple is going to launch its own network for the delivery of content to users , thereby reducing the burden on partners and increasing the overall speed that users see who downloaded content on their devices .

Finally, the third option is suggested by the words of Tim Cook Apple big plans for 2014 , as well as allocation of Apple TV in a separate category of devices. Who knows, maybe Apple really is preparing something big , associated with its set-top box , which you will need a powerful data network .
