Very often we can listen to the PR firm word "innovation" , when one of the vendors produces and markets a new device. However, what actually comes to innovation , the real innovation , we see not so much. And some of the vendors and do prefer to make that just suing fellow competitors , shaking the online news about the latest patent disputes and meetings.
Often, these lawsuits are drawn quite a long time and we hear about them every few months or more.
The most glaring example is, of course , disputes between Apple and Samsung. However, do not fall behind and HTC with Nokia, which is also some time ago competed in courtrooms , and now suddenly signed a patent agreement .
It all started with the fact that Nokia sued HTC in Germany , as the latter had violated patents first . In the end, the verdict was reached , forbidding the sale of some HTC devices in Germany, plus the company was ordered to repay the legal costs of the plaintiff. As a result, Nokia won 4 court victory over HTC.
Now it became known that the warring parties decided to end patent war with each other, signing an agreement that allows both parties to use and develop solutions to each other. Both sides seem satisfied transaction , hinting that the time gained and resources are going to spend on the development of new ideas and , once again , to innovate. However , HTC will have to pay royalty to the Finns , with the technology used once , but the Taiwanese devices will continue to be freely traded .
