Fewer people in the U.S. want to buy iPhone, preferring Android

Investment bank Piper Jaffray did some market research to

find out the preferences of people who intend to buy a smartphone in the next three months. As the findings of the survey , iPhone is gradually becoming less attractive in the eyes of consumers buying .

So buy iPhone ( regardless of the model ) now want 39% of respondents . For comparison , in December, of wishing it was 44% , and in September 2013 - 50 %. The majority of potential buyers are looking at Apple's smartphone model iPhone 5s - 33% of the total number of respondents ( or 85% of those who are considering buying as iPhone). Accordingly , iPhone 5c interested in only 6% of those who participated in the survey. Both models have become less attractive to buyers as compared to December and September last year.
At the same time increased the number of people who intend to buy a smartphone operating system Android. If in September 2013 their share was 32% in December - already 43% (about the same proportion of those wishing to buy iPhone). Now Android- smartphones attract 46 % of potential buyers . The share of those consumers who are considering other platforms , has remained relatively stable . In September 2013 the figure was 18% in December - 14 %, now - 15%.

Analyst Gene Munster (Gene Munster) said that the decline in interest in the iPhone due to the fact that with the release of the latest innovations have passed six months.
Because many potential buyers expect the announcement of next generation devices to upgrade to a new model already . Low interest in iPhone 5c, in his opinion, part of the small difference in price with the flagship iPhone 5s, which is more functional. In addition , colorful housing younger models also are not the deciding factor when choosing a device , as most people get to a smartphone case.
