It’s expected that we’ll see a Sony Xperia Z2 Compact quite soon, filling in the blanks after the Xperia Z2 model. Basically we’re getting a smaller Xperia Z2 with pretty much the same specs, if rumors are to be believed. In the meantime, let’s have a look at the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact render created by Kiarash Kia below:
This one is a 4.3 inch handset, probably with a 720p resolution, but it manages to keep the Snapdragon 801 of the bigger brother. However, I doubt it will get 3 GB of RAM, since 2 should suffice. I have no doubt this model will be waterproof and that it will come with Triluminous and X reality technologies. I expect the stereo speaker placement of the bigger model, a microSD card slot and 16 GB of storage.
Also, I imagine that the Xperia Z2 Compact has LTE, a 20.7 megapixel camera without 4K maybe and a front 2.2 MP shooter. The OS has got to be KitKat and maybe we’ll get a taste of a new UI this time, since Sony’s approach is becoming antique for the past generations since the Xperia S or so. What are your expectations for the new Compact model? The design is pretty predictable, with some pretty big edges, the trademark metal Power button and a physical camera button.
