While trying to create
their own version of the 4.7 inch iPhone 6, the folks of Mensquare.com may have accidentally created a very good looking… iPod. At least that’s my opinion. This model has an edge to edge display with a 4.7 inch diagonal and its inspirations are the iPad Air and iPod Touch 5G.
Part of the back is metal and part is polycarbonate, while upfront we now get 3 buttons instead of one. The volume buttons have become a single button with two functions and the On/Off button has been moved to the side.
The back camera is said to keep the 8 megapixel resolution, but it also gets in the mix a more powerful flash and a laser autofocus mechanism, like the LG G3. The Apple logo can now be used for notifications, as it glitters depending on the event it announces: text, call or retweet for example.
The same idea is applied to the Touch ID sensor, that also glows when you get a new notification. The Lightning port is replaced by MagSafe 3.0 and we also get dual stereo speakers flanking that port. The acoustics are provided by Beats Audio and the overall design of the device is very clean and well thought. I even feel a bit of the iMac here in this design direction… but it somehow cheapens the iPhone.
