How can two major phones share a design? Well, pretty much like the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, right? It
appears that HTC Nexus 2016 will manifest itself as a series that includes at least two devices, the Sailfish and Marlin, judging from the leak below.
It’s a very interesting approach with a third of the back side covered in what appears to be glass, including the camera area and fingerprint scanner. That’s certainly an unique approach I haven’t seen before. Of course, at its core the body remains made of aluminum and it’s an unibody affair. The antenna cutout at the bottom is present and the big “chin” below the screen is still present, typical for a HTC, but without their logo on it.
The back of the phone is gently curved around the edges, while the facade should also hold a curved 2.5D or 3D panel. What’s strange for me is the “G” logo and no Nexus branding, something which is pretty strange for a Nexus phone. We’re also curious about the speakers and expect a setup like on the HTC 10 and Huawei P9 Plus: a tandem of the bottom speaker and earpiece.
Also, what’s the deal with those small holes next to the camera? Speakers or…? And how can HTC made two Nexus phones with the same design? This render left us with more questions than answers.
