We didn’t get a new flagship phone at MWC 2017 from Nokia, but their midrange releases were quite solid. This leaves some room for the imagination of designers, that came up with such flagships. One
of them is prolific designer Concept Creator, who rendered the Nokia C9 below.
It’s clearly meant as a rival for the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium even. The handset sports a metal frame, a 5.5 inch Quad HD screen and a Snapdragon 835 processor. It also has 6 GB of RAM and a 22.3 megapixel camera. At the bottom there are stereo speakers and compared to the previous Nokia renders, this one has a more discrete camera area.
It seems to have a back covered with stitched leather, borrowing a page from the LG G4 playbook. The camera design feels a bit like the one of the Lumia 950, but only a bit. I see that the earpiece is quite generous, so it may also play a part in the acoustic stereophony of the device. The flash at the back is a dual tone one and the designer may have well thrown in a Xenon, since I think nobody would have minded.
Basically, what this model does is marry top notch specs with metal and leather. Well done!
