The idea of a HTC Vive phone has been floating around for a while, especially thanks to some leaks
that pointed in that direction. Now things are starting to get more palpable, as a concept of such a device has been rendered. It’s all courtesy of Mladen Milic, gaming phone designer extraordinaire.
He took the rumors, leaks and images of the HTC Vive phone and made his own version. The result is a dual camera handset with an aluminum body, but at the rear top of the device you’ll find either metal or a Gorilla Glass finish. Specs are in line with the modern flagships, including a 5.2 inch IPS LCD, a Snapdragon 835 CPU and 64 GB of storage, as well as 4 GB of RAM.
There’s a dual 13 MP back shooter here, as well as laser autofocus and a front 8 MP camera. This list is completed by a 3300 mAh battery. The back camera area reminds me of the Huawei P9 a bit, maybe also the Nexus 6P. That repeating triangle logo and shape is very cool and I could see it getting traction in the future. Even cooler would be if there was a stereo speaker behind it…
Since it’s a gaming phone streaming to Twitch and YouTube from it is pretty much a given. We’ve yet to find out what VR features are available on the HTC Vive phone.
