Remember the ZTE concept design competition we wrote about a few days ago? Well turns out that
the big winner of the competition was the model featured below, one that has a self adhesive back cover and an eye tracking system.
It was voted by the fans as the most popular design, within the Crowd Sourced X competition. The result will be a 5.5 inch Android phone, available from 2017, featuring an eye tracker input, that involves two cameras at the top and bottom bezels, as well as infrared light. The eye tracking has a system that reminds me of the Galaxy S4 from a few years ago, since it lefts you scroll with your eyes only.
The user’s pupils have infrared light beamed on them and the reflections will be used to calculate the required scrolling. Another interesting aspect of the device is a self-adhesive polymer, on the back cover, so the device is easily to be stuck on a surface, like a wall, a chair of even clothing. The concept doesn’t end here, since the handset will have a split screen privacy feature, that shows one view to the user and another to the person next to them.
Specs aren’t clear, but preliminary ones are high end, including a metal chassis, Snapdragon 823 processor, 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. There’s also a 16 megapixel main shooter and a 4000 mAh battery. Sounds like a very interesting proposal, maybe one that could be turned into a Pixel phone
