We have seen the Huawei Mate 9 quite a bit in a variety of leaks, but today makers the first time we
get to see it in two versions. It’s shown as the regular Mate 9 and then the Mate 9 Pro, with curved screen edges, courtesy of Evan Blass.
The phones are expected to debut on November 3rd, with very high end specs and the codenames of Manhattan and Long Island. Both handsets are 5.9 inchers and they rely on HiSilicon Kirin 960 processors, as well as 4 or 6 GB of RAM. The Mate 9 has a Full HD screen, while the Mate 9 Pro adopts a Quad HD resolution, making it prone for some Daydream VR action.
Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro will use the same dual camera with Leica tech and I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Leica engraved on the body of the device, between the two sensors (20MP/12MP). The Pro model looks a ton like a Xiaomi Mi 5, with those curved edges and the Home button with oval shape is atypical for Huawei, especially since it makes no sense.
We have a fingerprint scanner at the back, so what’s the point?
