Recently we’ve heard that this fall Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Note 5, but not only that. They’re also launching a
dual curved phablet, that won’t be just a curved version of the Note 5, but more of a standalone device. That product is now known as Project Zen and today it’s rendered by designer Metti.
Serving as a replacement for Galaxy Note Edge, this handset comes with a 5.4 or 5.5 inch screen, with a Super AMOLED panel and a dual curved screen. There’s an S Pen in the mix and the Snapdragon 808 hexa core CPU, plus 16 GB of storage and a 16 megapixel main camera with OIS. Upfront there’s an 8 MP selfie shooter and as shown in images the curved nature of the device is pretty well disguised by the design.
I see there’s no pulse scanner here and the camera design and placement is atypical for a modern Samsung. I feel a certain Lumia vibe emanating from this device, but it may just be a fake impression. Project Zen (or maybe Galaxy Note Edge 2) will no wonder feature a more finalized version of those curved Samsung edges, perhaps with more than just contacts this time…
