I can’t believe it it’s been
3 years or so since the Google Glass came up and we still don’t have a 100% finalized commercial product. This means the smart headset niche is wide open, although hardware makers seem to focus on VR headsets more now. Designer Jaeyong Lee envisioned a new type of headset, that can be seen below.
He calls it the Emotion Headphones for Pantech’s Sky Vega mobile and this product is meant to work as multiple devices. First, the headset houses a camera, then a touchscreen and sensors for heart rate monitoring.
The camera unit is detachable and can be placed anywhere you want. I sure hope the design of the actual body is more flexible, because these pictures make it seem a bit rigid.
Also, this isn’t exactly an evolution from the Google Glass, seeing how it’s bigger and thicker, but it’s still a pretty elegant headgear. This accessory would be useful as maybe a GoPro replacement of sorts, for people who like to film from POV perspective. Sadly you can’t interact with an interface here through any eye gear.
