Designer Cage
Appleby has sent us a brand new concept of a Microsoft Surface Phone, that’s pretty much a work in progress right now, but it’s coming out fine. Dubbed Microsoft Surface M, that handset is dissected by yours truly below, so let’s get to it!
After a series of sketches and long hours of rendering, the project got to this stage. It seems that we’re dealing with an angular handset model, one that’s probably as wide as a HTC HD2 from back in the day and seems dual segmented at the back side. This may be caused by some sort of kickstand and I find the back camera to be a tad too small for my expectations.
The overall format is OK, especially since it strays away from the over repeated Fabula Design. There’s also something very Nexus 5X about this model, but I can’t quite put my hand on it. The handset seems pretty slim and the edges of the screen are reasonably thick. My recommendation for the designer would be to decide what approach to take about the back camera: centered or placed at the corner and certainly bigger.
